Extra Credit: To Singapore with Love

On october 15th, 2018 I had the privilege to see To Singapore with Love. This film is made by Tan Pin Pin, the director got say a couple of words about her film and why she decided to make it. Pin Pin's intention was to create a film that explains and shows political exiles of Singapore. She creates two pieces to this film, she first started off by picking a family in order to portray their story to get her point across by showing the struggles the family had to go through. The family has been treated unfairly in their country by various way. One way was how the government kicked the family off their own land. This was traumatizing due to the fact that the family upheld their tradition of burying their deceased loved ones in their yard. When they were evicted, they had to dig up the bones of their deceased loved ones. The film is structured to show the evilness of the situation, and is done so by following the family through a long period of time, and between two main aspects of their life.
